Microsoft Windows Server 2025 – 1 User CAL

Client Access Licenses (CALs) are additional licenses for businesses that allow them to extend the server operating system to additional users or devices, providing them full access to the system. Microsoft offers two versions of these licenses – User CAL and Device CAL.

Every user or device that connects to the server system must have a valid Microsoft Server 2025 license. A User CAL is a license assigned to a specific user, while a Device CAL is assigned to a device. Since User CALs are linked to users, each user with a license receives personal access credentials to the system. The advantage is that the user can access the system from any workstation. These licenses are not tied to devices, unlike Device CALs.
